Deb’s Bento Box Collection

I’m bonkers for bento and bento boxes. I have about 65 boxes in my collection and growing. From February 2015 – April 2015 about half of my collection was on view at The Boston Architectural College on Newbury Street, in an exhibit called: Obento and Built Space:Japanese Boxed Lunch and Architecture. The photos in this gallery were taken by Joanne Strohmeyer Rathe, with whom I have worked  for over 10 years while writing and food styling for the Boston Globe, unless indicated otherwise.  The food preparation and styling was done by my assistant Chie Ehara and me.
